Marie Ponce is an actor that found her love for the theatre at a young age. Her first role was in the Kindergarten Christmas Pageant playing the role of Mary. She desperately wanted the lead but seeing how that was being played by a plastic, baby doll she decided holding it would be the next best thing. After high school plays and musicals she decided to further her education at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. There she went through rigorous training and was exposed to the Suzuki Method, Alexander Technique, and Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints. During her junior year, she was cast as Ariel in the professional Lit Moon Theatre Co.’s “Blue Tempest” and would later join the company after graduating in May 2010.
Along with Lit Moon, Marie has worked with several other professional companies in the Santa Barbara area including BOXTALES Theatre Co., touring two different shows for schools in California, as well as work with Elements Theatre Collective and Ratatat Theatre Group. Marie also tours her one woman show, “They Must Be Wings,” which was written and directed by Diana Small. She currently lives in LA.
